Ben, Joe and I took an hour and a half horseback ride through the desert. It was early morning, but by the end of our ride at 9:30, it was already getting very hot. No wonder Joe almost fell asleep. The young man in the pictures was one of our trail leaders. The boys were impressed with his talk of cattle drives and rodeos. He was a real cowboy! We saw some lizards, a big jack rabbit and lots of cactus. Fortunately, we saw no rattle snake!
